Greetings Blanchard Families,
The school year is off to a great start! Smiles have been bountiful among students and staff this week. Our sixth graders were treated with plenty of TLC and have enjoyed three productive days of orientation and community building. Seventh and eighthgraders are settling into routines and their new hallways. Counselors, Mrs. Demins, and I have enjoyed visiting classrooms and lunches to welcome students back, hear about summer vacations, and start to learn names of our newest students. Thank you for helping us keep the first days of school positive and sending students to school prepared.
Hopefully, everyone gets plenty of rest this weekend gearing up for a four-day week ahead. All students received a Blanchard agenda book this week. Over the first few weeks of school, teachers use this tool to introduce and reinforce important organizational and time management skills. Check to see that your child is filling it out completely. Teachers also post homework online via the Blanchard webpage or Google. Consider making some time this weekend to go over afternoon appointments, sports practices, and other activities as well. You may find that noting these events in the space at of the agenda book page helps your child plan out the week and feel more prepared transitioning back into the school routine.
