Welcome to 6 Blue! It has been wonderful getting to know all of our students, and I look forward to working with students as well as their families throughout the year. Our goal this year is to examine the elements of "great" writing, and by June, ALL of our students will be better writers. This will be accomplished through the ongoing study of grammar, vocabulary and writing.

SOCIAL STUDIES

Welcome to 6th grade Social Studies and to the Blue team! I am excited to start a new year and to meet all of you. This year, we will travel around the world, exploring different climates and cultures. We will start the year by brushing up on our mapping skills. Students will learn how to describe Westford's relative and absolute location. They will learn the key latitude and longitude lines as we begin our journey as geographers. Please ask your child what he or she chose as a name for the "geography alliteration cards."
